LAS VEGAS -- October 9, 2006. Lava Bars were among ten proud supplier companies that were lauded on the NACS Show floor as winners in the 10th Annual Convenience Store News Best New Product Contest.

A panel of editors from Convenience Store News and several sister publications judged the entries. Scoring was based on innovation, packaging, fit to the convenience store market, consumer need and flavor where appropriate.

Newcomer Lava Chocolate LLC wowed judges with its liquid gourmet chocolate bar, The Original Lava Bar. In addition to consumption as a confection, Lava Bars are also an audience-pleaser as an ice cream topping; a fruit, cookie, or cracker dip; and as a hot or cold beverage mix-in.
